Hi everyone. I just registered onto this site and hope I am putting my post under the right topic. I started the HCG diet and injections 9 days ago and feel absolutely horrible. I am also borderline diabetic. I have been following the diet EXACTLY as I should (500 calories). I can not get my blood sugars to get above 80. I get shaky, nausea (throwing up every morning), "foggy headed", weak, dizzy, blurred vision, grumpy, or crying spells because I feel so awful. When I eat, I get very nauseated 1/2 way through meal and have to gag the rest down. It takes me about 45min just to eat a meal so I won't throw it up. I have searched every where and no one seems to have this same problem. What am I doing wrong? I've tried leaving off the fruit items and increasing veggies, it helped a little, but not much. I even tried breaking up my meal so my sugar wouldn't get so low in between meals, and that made it worse. I just don't know what to do. I have lost 8.5lbs so far, but I'm beginning to think that it isn't worth it to feel like this every day. I need to lose the wt before my diabetes gets out of control, but I can't keep feeling like this. My kids and hubby are worried about me. I don't know if this would have anything to do with it or not, but I had a complete hysterectomy about 4yrs. ago and am not on any Hormone replacement therapy. I was hoping someone could help me out cause I don't want to quit, but I just don't see any other option....please help. |

I am a Type 1 diabetic and hate the way I feel when I am low. It sounds like you need to eat more to keep your blood sugar in a normal range. It is very dangerous to walk around low all the time. I am surprised a doctor would allow a border line diabetic to go on this type of diet. I think you should call your doctor and let them know what is going on. Please keep us updated on how you are doing. Amy |

I've modified my food plan a little bit. I obviously have to increase protein. So, what I do now is eat about 2oz of meat in am. Mid morning, I eat 1/2 fruit. Lunch I eat 4oz. meat, veggies, 1/2 fruit, and the melba toast or grissini. A few hrs. after lunch, I eat 1/2 fruit. Supper time I eat 4oz. meat, and veggies only. Before going to bed, I eat another 2oz, meat, 1/2 fruit, and melba toast or grissini. It's helping, sometimes my sugar still gets a little low, but much better than it was (the other morning my blood sugar was 48!! With the diet changes, I realize that I may not lose as much weight and not as quickly, but that's ok too. I'm just happy with any wt. loss as long as I'm feeling better. |

Is it safe if I personally have a history of high blood pressure, still have a heart murmur, and have a family history of high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, and thyriod. I would be interested to hear from some one who has been on the diet about their experiance on it and if it has long term effects. <LINK REMOVED> Last edited on 3 July 2009 08:39 am by |
