Any suggestion:
I am trying to live a healthier life style. I recently began jogging. I like it a lot. I go out 2 days weekly for an hour to do it. It makes me feel wonderful. My problem is that when I get on scale I weigh more. As though I gained weight. I stopped jogging, as it makes me depress to have my scale increase. Should I be eating more? Should I be drinking protein shakes? I never understood the reason behind these shakes. How can I continue to jog and still lose weight.

It may sound silly, but I haven’t been jogging in over a month and a half, even though I like it. I need to find a balance, and I don’t know how. Any idea’s for me.

Seems like you already secretly know the answer to your question. You posted in a section called "feed the muscle" so you must be aware that this type of body tissue (muscle) does exist and further that it weighs something. So if you start to exercise (or increase your exercise) and your body responds by building new muscle, the weight of your new muscle is added to the previous weight of your body. There's no way around it but understand that the problem isn't with the muscle, it is with your head, the way the number scares you.

It is a common problem you're not alone

I can weigh 2 - 4 lbs more the day after a long run. A few extra calories in the form of treats can soon wipe out the benefits of a 1 hr run.

It all balances itself out. I do eat a bit more on high exercise days. If you hang around for a while eating healthy and exercising your weight will drop. If it doesn't you are eating too much or as Nir say's bulking the muscle which weighs more.

I have lost 24lbs since Christmas doing this. Some weeks no loss other weeks 1 or 2 lbs. Lately a lot of no changes:sad:

It takes time and patience to lose weight, it is not an overnight job. Unfortunately our genes make it easy to put on and difficult to get off:grin::grin:
