saturday, i did something that i wouldnt normally do! :) I took myself on an adventure yesterday because i was kinda down about holiday etc, so i was originally going to take a drive to the walmart south of me.....take pics of the trees changing colors etc....but i saw the Tome Hill on the way and it called to me to take a hike. Tome is kinda like our sacred 11 stations of the cross here in the valley, lots of catholics etc do the walk from their homes every easter to the top of this mountain, its just over a mile to the top and its a nice rocky lava rocky kind of hike. So, I parked my car, grabbed my water, and camera and took a 35 min hike. It took me 13 to get up to the top and then about 20 coming down! Of course down is harder, and i had a small slip where i thought i was goin butt over tincups, but i saved my footing.. :)

So, for saturday i got 35 min HIGH cardio, and definately Strength for L. I dont know if hiking requires the abs or the upper body as much...so i am not gonna count it. It was alot easier than i thought, and i enjoyed it and want to do it again! :)

I didnt weigh in today, I have put the scale away. I do feel funny having no weigh in. However, i read yesterday about how long it takes to stop getting nitetime munchies, they say it takes 8-9 days to break the habit. So, I imagine after about 8-9 days i will be ok with not weighing in. :) Please let it get easier this way!!! :)

Hi everyone

I dance the night away so put me down for 1 hour cardio. Caught up with housework today it's pouring with rain really heavy, dark and miserable looking outside.

Hey Lami, what a great way to get your exercise in...a lot more fun than the gym I'm sure .

BJD, good luck on the nighttime munchies fight....I am fighting the same battle, maybe I'll see what I can find on the Internet that might help. I am going to try adding glutamine to  my diet, it's suppose to help w/ sugar cravings as well as muscle developement. I've researched it on the internet and it doesn't seem to have any negative side effects and there does seem to be some evidence it helps. Who knows but in any case it takes a week to even start to help so I will just have to use good old willpower I guess.

Saturday--1 hour cardio. Took the dogs for a long walk in the woods, we were gone probably a couple hours but it wasn't all cardio, so I figure cut it in half.

For today,  I went to a really intense combo step and aerobics class....I think the point is to try and kill you :dizzy:. After that we took the dogs for a nice hike so no strength but I would say reasonably 2 hours cardio for Sunday.

hello! happy monday!

Started super early, time change threw me off some... :( up at the crack of dawn! I was out at 8am scooping poo for 45 min. I had to go thru their main corral area then out to the largest field we have because i have been letting them out there to graze lately. Then, i moved 6 wheelbarrows of firewood from the barn, around thru their corral to our back yard, that took me an hour.

So, for today I would like to put myself down for 2.5miles of walking for cardio for 105 min, with U and L for strength for the loading, unloading, walking a full (overfull really) wheelbarrow of wood. :)

have a great day! :)

I hate the time change, I am so glad it's been shortened. I don't even know are we on daylight savings time now and the other is the real time or vice versa? Anyway, I like it light out later at night. I get up at 4:30 am, it's always going to be dark so what the heck right?

Today I went to the gym, 45 minute run on the treadmill so for Monday 45 minutes cardio.

My eating, exercise, and life in general, are suffering from the same thing lately...just meandering around with no plan or goal.  That leads to eating more, exercising less, and wasting time.  So I'm going to at least set a goal for exercise this week:

Strength:  L-1, U-2, C-2 (gym equipment and free weights)

Cardio:  Four days per week, with at least two being 20 mins intense workout, mixing it up, on that elliptical machine.

I know this is a pretty modest goal, but I've been getting more and more lazy, lately, and the trend is in the wrong direction.

Putting it in writing, folks!!!

hey guys, i just read what you are all feeling about losing the motivations, we mustnt let it happen! lol.....i am struggling with the time change, last nite i was sleepy at 9, which is 10 and i couldnt keep my eyes open, but then, i layed down and couldnt get comfy or fall asleep. UGH! I am totally out of sorts! Its light in the ams and dark by 5! I never do very well in the winter time, so for me this next few months will be challenging.

We have to stay on top of the workouts, like Nance sais...put it in writing!! :)

Today, havent done anything yet, gotta run into town drop fed ex item off at postoffice......we are still dealing with our mortgage company, trying desparately to get some assistance or adjustment to make it easier for us to survive. Going on 6 months since we started this, and they just set us up for another 6 month payment plan while they continue to try to find us a program that will work for him. How can it be that he made 20,000 less this year, we are a one income home, and he is having hard time getting anyone to qualify him? we are barely keeping our heads above water...its terrible to think HOW BAD it has to be to GET ANY REAL SOLID HELP these days.... :(

We are greatful for a solid job, even if its less than last year, at least its enough for me to stay home with mj and be a good mom and wife and keep the house going. If i were working all the money would go to childcare or gas anyway....right now this is how it has to be. Its just hard because you never know what can happen.

ok, enough chatting....be back later with my workout report!

Good day ladies! :)

Hello,

I've not managed to get to the gym and had very little opportunity to exercise. I've caught up with washing and housework though!! I'm work different hours and work is very busy.

I'm working tomorrow night so won't get to the gym then either. Thursday will be my next gym night all going well.

lol hiker, i am totally there with you in regards to the choices i am making! Really its just those mounds bars i got. I tell you, its taking all i have to not grab the bag and eat them all up to get them gone. Its terrible. I just want them gone! So, to combat that overdose i did the scooping of dog and horse poo around the two fields for 40 min then i jogged in place for 30 min ending each 5 min was 3min normal/2min fast, then i walked for 15 min at 3-4mph doing the kicks, knee lifts, sidesteps etc.

So, for today I did a total of 85min cardio and U L strength.

Now, I just need to NOT EAT anymore today!!! LOL...yeah, right! lol

I am kinda nervous about weighing in on friday because it will have been almost a whole week since my last weigh in....its either gonna be good or bad....if i dont get rid of the mounds its gonna be bad! lol...out dam mounds...out!

Thanks, I've been so busy with my grand children these past few days and I've got them over night to give their mum a wee break. Hiker, I've got two lovely grandsons one aged 9 and the other 4 and they are so excited about their little sister. It's such a wonderful thing to watch. When I had my children I'm afraid being a mum I was always busy with washing, cooking and cleaning so it's nice to sit back relax and just be there!!! I always say, "I wish I was a granny before I was a mum" Doesn't make sense but to those who have children and grandchildren I'm sure you'll get what I mean. I seem to have a lot more experience, patience and understanding. Ah well, I can't undo anything so it's make and do the best and if I do that I can't do any worse.

Apart from holding my gorgeous little grand-daughter and rocking her till my arms ache. No exercise.....well maybe that will count as a strength exercise.

Working tomorrow fortunately it's a Family Day so I can take the boys with me. They love it football, bouncy castle, arts and crafts etc........

Lami, you are so right about grandchildren. I tell my son, who is 34, the only reason in the world a person has children is so they can someday have grandchildren! He is still not willing to cooperate:devil:. A bet that little girl will get spoiled by those big brothers of hers....and she should be.

i did good today too! :)

58 min cardio, with U, L and C please :) (this was my 4 mile super challenge!)

its funny, this NEW leslie video I bought is actually a compellation of the originals that I had bought back when i first had MJ and left them for my mom to use!

Its nice to go back and do them again, I realize that they are just as challenging to me i think because its changing up things alot. These are focused on much more repitition of movements instead of doing a little of all of them in quick reps. Like say we do 20-40 reps instead of 8-16. Its nice cuz it burns! :)

Caught a stomach virus, probably at the gym.   It's been off and on, mostly off, since last Saturday, but last night it hit, big time.   Enough information on that.  Hopefully explains why I've been so lazy this week.

Isn't it nice that you can't spread things like that to your friends over the internet!

Anyway, only a 30 minute walk tonight.  Barely moved all day otherwise.  Maybe I'll try to do upper body at home later, else I won't even make my modest goal for the week.

Saturday:   Strength:  nothing    Cardio:  30 mins

ps: BJ, I'm proud of you for keeping your cool on that Binge Eating thread.

Hey Nancy, hope you're feeling better, stomach viruses are not fun. I give you credit for getting any exercise in ....I would probably just laze around and feel bad for myself.

Today was really nice here, in the 60's and sunny so we took the dogs for a nice long off leash walk....I really do love to let them off leash in the woods, they seem to enjoy it so much. Living in the city doesn't give them much chance to be dogs so I think it's important to get them out when I can.

I am pretty sore from my work out from yesterday, my abs and pecs are really feeling the sit ups and push ups....not tha I can even do one real push up....I can only sort of do a girlie push up, even that I cheat at. I think I am going to try and do a few push-ups each day...maybe 10 until I can actually do one...a girl one will be fine.

For today, Sunday, I would count it as 45 minutes cardio. The rest was just fun walking.

Got outfit for son's wedding in June 2010 and I can't get skirt over my hips!!!

So, good incentive to work out and watch what I'm eating. It sort of worked with my daughter's wedding and although I said I wouldn't put myself under that kind of pressure again!!! The outfit is gorgeous and will keep me on track!!

Going to gym with my daughter tonight and detoxing today.

Thanks Nance, its really comforting to hear that from you ladies!! :) I appreciate the support :) I really am happy to hear you are getting better! D came home saturday nite with a throat that was closing in (got worse thru nite, and sunday called mom, we took him to the urgent care, turned out he has a virus and his glands all swelled up and have closed his throat up considerably!) Scary because he cant eat, or drink much at all and they put him on a Zpak that was costly! ARGH! He is kinda talking today, but in a whisper, i can barely hear him. I have another 24 hours before i am out of the loop for getting it and we left MJ with my folks again. :( I miss her!

Friday I was a good girl and I did 5 miles! :) I did them in a 3 mile set then a 2 mile set because I kept needing to get something or help MJ, but still it was 78 min of cardio with U L and C because I used the stretchie band that came with the video. It was pleasantly Hard to do! :)

Saturday I posted already and its on the chart! :)

Sunday I managed to get in my 2 mile Walk and Kickboxing and I used my hand weights and sweat great! :) Please put me down for U L and C and 33 min cardio. :)

ok, guys i dont know what is up with the duplicate postings!!? :=/

i had a great day today so far! :) We got 10 bales of 3 strand alfalfa and each bale weighs 130pds. Then I scooped the poo and carried a very full wheelbaroow out to the largest farthest field, and Then we loaded the wheelbarrow for 2 runs of firewood to the back yard, and then D cut more firewood that I pushed for a total of 3 runs of about 1/2 track lap one way. This took me an hour total for all of that. I used U, L and C and got some cardio for 30 min.

Then, if that wasnt enough for me, while D was taking a nap I did my 2.5mile walk/jog with my hand weights. 30 min total.

So, for Monday please put me down for 60 min cardio and U L And C. :)

(im not sure guys,  but maybe that M from the BE thread has pushed me to stop going in circles and get my BUTT in gear!!!....so maybe I should say thanks M! lol )

Sounds like your on the mend Nancy but take it slowly.

Went to gym tonight, motivation still high and hopefully it will stay that way. I've watched my eating today. Proper Scot's porridge oats (no nice and easy which is full of sugar) lots of fruit and I left half my beef curry and rice last night so had the other half tonight. Had a few bran biscuits with a scrape of strawberry jam and a handful of peanuts.

At the gym tonight I did:

5 mins walking (level 5)
5 mins jogging (level 6.5)
10 mins cross trainer (level 4)
10 mins cumber bike (level 5)

I'm slowly increasing speed and with some time. My legs are feeling it tonight so it must be working. I'll soon feel confident to go to the gym on my own. It's a lot quieter at 8pm so I might make that my routine.

I'm not going to gym tomorrow as I'm visiting my nephew. I will try to make time on Thursday as I have an evening meeting at work. That's one thing I'm going to have to adjust is finding times that suit when I'm working.

Nancy, I just discovered fried cabbage this week, I had never had it but I had some cabbage so I thought what the heck I'll cook it in some olive oil, toss in a little garlic and see what happens...it was really good. :yum:

hey ladies! :)

today was a high calorie day, but D is home sick and he really had no taste except to have a shake and a sandwich from arbys...i know, bizarre, but i was happy to see him eat! The time my post was duplicated I didn't hit Send twice.  But the edit screen just hung there for about 2 mins after I hit send, so I did a CTRL/ALT/DEL, ended the task, opened the thread again, and it was there twice, if that info helps.

This is another duplicate post.  This time I just let the edit screen hang there.   When I came back in the room later the "page not found screen" was showing, and it had double posted.

Hiker wrote: Nancy, I just discovered fried cabbage this week, I had never had it but I had some cabbage so I thought what the heck I'll cook it in some olive oil, toss in a little garlic and see what happens...it was really good. :yum:Great!  Black pepper goes well on it, too.

Drove to the gym.  Still unpleasant weather here from Ida.  Twenty minutes intense elliptical, 1/2 mile on track (8 mins).   Was there 1.5 hours because it was slow going tonight.   Too much time off, I guess.

Wednesday:   Strength: U,L,C   Cardio: 28 mins

Edited to add: Went for a walk on Thursday.

Thursday:  Cardio:  44 mins

Yeah, we'e getting the Ida weather today and tomorow....at least there is hope for Sunday .

Friday--50 minutes cardio and U for strengh. I've been doing a little strength training before my class. I concentrate more on upper body becuase I am really weak there. I don't worry much about my lower body...all that walking has kept me pretty strong there but I do need to get some core stuff in.

Just a walk again tonight.   Wouldn't have even done that if not for this challenge.  The weather is beautiful here today.  High of 76 and sunny.  No excuses.

Friday:   Strength: none   Cardio: 30 mins

hello! yeah, that IDA isnt making my friend in Atlanta very happy. She is all down in the dumps because of the rain. I say send it here so we dont have to water!!! We have overcast skies but nothing yet. Yesterday in ABQ it rained enough to make my car really dirty! LOL

Thursday dad brought MJ home and brought his two labs with him, so i insisted we take them for a walk. I walked both the dogs, which are both at least 90pds each and totally unruly on a leash, my folks take them to the dog park alot and let them be free....so leashes arent their favorite! So, I was pulled quite nicely! I even got my spine realigned when Lucy decided she needed to see Duker a neighborhood dog.....I think I cracked from my left shoulder up and down my whole back! It was startling! We were out for 60min. Please put me down for 60 min cardio for Thursday.

Friday, we had MJ's dentist appt that went south, so we spent the day with my folks, took my grama to her dr apt and while there I ran up and down 3 flights of stairs for 10min. we walked the parking lot and I spent most of the day driving. Came home and didnt do any workouts. 25 min cardio for Friday.

Saturday I did my 5 mile fat burn workout, please put me down for 63 min cardio with U L and C. :)

Hiker, the pups are good dogs its just that my folks let them run amuck and when they are here, well, they go nutsy cuz of all the free roamin dogs that are around, they get so excited. After we had been out about 25 min i think they calmed down. They are labs so the energy is endless!!!! The cracking of my neck was bizarre but oddly enough it helped the HORRIBLE headache i was fighting that day! LOL.....

Went to the gym today for Power Hour and our instructor decided to try something new, personally I think she wants some time off so she was trying to kill us all . For Saturday it was definatley 60 minutes of cardio and U, C and L for strength. I knowwhen I get up tomorrow I am going to be hurting :dizzy::wink:.

BJD, that walk with the dogs doesn't sound like a lot of fun, I hate if my dogs pull and they are only 17 pounds each .
