You might just need to give it more time. I'm sure you already know that working the butt muscles doesn't actually remove the fat from your butt. To do that, you will need to continue to lower your body fat percentage, to give those muscles the chance to show through, and that takes a lot of time.
Don't give up!

I have the same problem, BUT I have been doing lots of strength training and I can feel the muscle firming up under my leftover fat that I can't seem to lose. Sooooo...keep on squating! It'll pay off eventually!

Ugh! I know! I have uneven amounts of tone/fat on my butt and it drives me insane.
For me, it found a really good improvement after a year of weight lifting, squats, and jumping. You'll get there!
Lots of love.

Go to You Tube and look up Frog Squats.....2 or 3 sets of 10 a day and I can start to feel some firming up under my fat on my rear and thighs....it is not an easy exercise for me and it gives me that lovely "burning" sensation in my muscles.

I have a friend who swears that doing the bike works for her butt. I wouldn't know that from personnel experience since it was my bike that she borrowed and never brought back, lol.
But, hey give it a try.....got nothing to lose.

I thought I would comment here, as someone who has done the bike for a good while.
I don't think the bike really works the butt, and yes, I have an upright. When I started walking around the neighborhood, which is inclined, my butt was sore afterwards, even though I had been walking on the treadmill for a good while, albeit level.
However, the soreness stopped after about a week, so maybe the bike did do something. Regardless, my butt has always been pretty small, and it's really small now, but not firm.

Using an elliptical machine on an incline (not all of them have this feature) helps work your butt muscles and gives you some good cardio to burn fat at the same time. Also, doing high stair step-ups really gets those muscles burning, as long as your knees can handle it.
Good luck :) Sounds like you're doing good exercise, it may just take time.

| Exercise only works if you have the diet to go along with it.

Depends on how tall you are and stuff. But, it sounds about right.
There is a couple of exercise that come to mind, that I do once in awhile that would help the butt area.
Lay on the floor on your back, bend knees, and push your butt up in the air, then back to the floor. repeat
Another one is to get on all fours, and raise you leg/knee out and up, more out from the side. Hard to explain. This on is also good for upper legs, but does work the butt.
If you can't figure it out from my description, then let me know. I am sure I can find a link with pics on the Internet...

| do you go to a gym?? Some places have a different variation of a machine called the butt blaster... I know the name... basically your kneeling, set the weight on the machine and push one leg straight back and then bring it back to a kneelig position. you could do the same thing at home w/ weighted ankle bands

would this work with an exercise band as well?

| it should. i would use a shorter band length. hold one end under you hand as your kneeling and put your toes thru the handle on the other end and raise your leg straight back into the air.
