Hey guys, I've been lurking around for a few weeks now and it's time to come out of the woodwork. I'm 23, 5'4, and 155 lbs. I've been overweight for the greater part of my life topping out at 215 lbs, the weight at which I stabilized to after my pregnancy. At that point I was living in Italy and every day we had our choices of pasta, pizzas, gelato, pasticceria, you name it- we ate it. A LOT. And, being American, my husband and I had no sense of portion control.

After about 8 months at 215 lbs I finally buckled down and hauled my @$$ to the gym. Then I started buying fresh produce and seafood at the local outdoor market, which was fun! So I dropped 20 lbs and stabilized for a while. We were preparing to move back home, and it's nearly impossible to lose weight during a military move.

After 3 months living with my parents while trying to find a new apartment I was amazed I hadn't gained any weight back! Being in their house had caused quite a bit of stress eating, but they acted as built-in babysitters for my son (who is now 3) so I had more than enough time to exercise (mostly walking and swimming.)

Since moving into my newest place I ramped up my routine to running 5 miles almost every day (including a fairly large bridge.) And I dropped another 40 lbs putting me at my current 155. My goal is 125 lbs and I'd like to reach it by my birthday in December.

Before:

Yeah, probably the most unflattering picture ever taken

A headshot from a show I was in at 215 lbs.

And Now:

I took this a few minutes ago specifically to post here.

A good headshot

Congrats you look amazing girl!  I don't think you need to lose anymore because you look awesome, but if you do, this is the right place to be!  I've lost 80+ lbs since I've joined this forum!

I was going to ask what you do to tone, your arms and legs look great!  Have you had any issues with skin elasticity since you've lost weight?

Thanks guys, my legs have really improved since I started running. As for my arms,  life takes care of those. My left is my tray arm (I wait tables) and my right is for hoisting my 3 year old. The only skin issue I have is my stomach, it's stretch marked and a bit loose. I've tried some different lotions but they haven't worked.

Hi guys, nice to finally be able to get on here to post.  (had a BIG problem getting registered, but the nice people who run this site were great and here I am).  I'm too tired to write any more now, I've been out shopping for new appliances for the kitchen remodel.  Anyway....it's nice to finally be here and I'll post more about myself tomorrow.

:))

I recently started running again, I'm hoping for some leg toning benefits.  I actually just pulled a quad yesterday :(.  How long have you been running?

I started run/walking back in December and now I can go a solid 6-7 miles of straight running if the heat outside isn't too brutal. But right now it looks like we're both not running, I stepped on some glass last week and it became infected. Good luck with your quad, I've (surprisingly) never pulled one before.

You look great...By the pics it doesn't look like you need to lose more weight, but being 5'4" myself, I know that getting below 145 is the best weight when it comes to BMI. I give you kuddos for running in the St. Augustine heat. I have visited the town and it gets pretty humid and hot. Keep up the great work.
