The Off Topic Posts forum was started by popular request from forum members who have gotten to know each other wanted a place to share about "off-topic" subjects.
You are welcome to start a topic of your own and share about anything you like. Your dog, your horse, your kids, your vacation, your country or what a great leader your country has.
Please just be sure you're familiar with the Forum Posting Guidelines before you post.
Now, how better to start than with my sharing about my new puppy. He's a Miniature Schnauzer and his name is Mukaluka Dirtypaws. He's three months old and learning tricks fast!
While I spend most of my day working on my PC, he plays and sleeps beside me.

I started a little website to share about him with family and friends, and I welcome other Miniature Schnauzer owners to post there about their dog, too:
http://www.MySchnauzer.net
And two other doggie websites I created:
http://www.MapleCreekMSR.org (Miniature Schnauzer rescue in Washington, Oregon & Idaho)
http://www.PMSC2.org (Portland Miniature Schnauzer Club)

| Yep, I also own a small dog, a poodle to be more exact and two german sheperds, Kelly, (my poodle) is pretty old now, but the only trick she can do is when I tell her "sit", she actually sits down!!!Here is a picture of my beloved Kelly: Attached Image (viewed 928 times):

Scoobees, Jake looks like a Scooby dog.
My dog will be competing in two shows this weekend. She currently has three points toward her championship. She needs 15 points to be a champion. The points are based on how many dogs she beats in competition. There are no points for second place either.
She has several reserve wins, but unless the winner is disqualified, she doesn't get the points.

I love my dog too. Every day we play frisbee. I think my dog loves my husband more she's a daddy's girl but I still love her anyway. My husband has trained her to dance. You tell her to sit, she dances, you tell her to speak, she dances. He's trying to teach her to walk down the hall. She's half boston terrier and half something else. My husband says maybe possum. She's very beautiful and musclelar and she mixed color black and brown. Bridgel. Something like that. Small dog. Thinks every dog should bow down to her. She loves everyone that comes over I hope no one tries to rob us she'll welcome them in. She's my best friend.

Aw, what a beautiful soft face.
You all have such sweet poochies. I don't have online pictures but mine is a mini-dachshund who is fifteen this year. My vet calls her "geriatric" and I'm very offended on her behalf. I figure, as long as she can keep up a full schedule of ball playing, whining for food, barking out the window, and generally running the household -- she's not old.
Dog's are the best thing in the whole world. They love us whether we're fat or thin.

| Such a great topic, Peter. I love my babies so much. Little Bit and Sissy make my day everyday. Little doggies are certainly God's most magnificent creatures!

| I have a huge problem -- she is killing my cats! She is sweet otherwise! But its sad to have to keep her tied! We have thought of a shock collar but I don't think it'll work -- she already killed three cats in a matter of so many months. Attached Image (viewed 555 times):

I love my dog too! She's a boston terrier..and though she's struggling with potty training..she's so smart otherwise! And she's even smart enough to know to hide when she has went potty on the floor.. She just doesn't like to be told she's bad.

Important Message for Members of Dog Clugs
Is your dog club or rescue organization operating as a tax-exempt, non-profit organization in the eyes of the IRS? Are you sure?
The IRS has not been requiring tax-exempt, non-profit organizations with gross annual receipts normally not more than $25,000 to file annual tax returns. But at the same time, they have been dropping organizations that haven't filed from their records. And tax IDs used on bank accounts have become invalid, too. Oops!
To remedy this problem, the IRS is now requiring these organizations to file a simple, on-line form each year. But before your club or rescue can begin this process, it may have to re-establish its status with the IRS.
I discovered all this when I became treasurer of my local club, and I created a little website so that I could share the information I collected with other clubs:
http://www.DirtypawWebsites.com/tax-exempt/
It will tell you what you need to know, and will also serve as a guide to new organizations.
I would greatly appreciate hearing your questions, comments and suggestions to help me improve this information. It's all about helping others. Yes dogs, but people, too!
Thank you,
Peter

Below is a picture of my "babies".
I lost my first Dalmatian, Alex, of nearly 14 years in August 2006. I was devastated.
I had planned on getting another dog for years, but Alex seemed to enjoy being an "only dog". When he passed, I was ready. Some people take years to recover from the loss of a pet, but I felt the best way to honor him was to move forward.
I obtained another Dal. Not everyone can be a Dal owner as they truly are clowns, but I adore them. I also always wanted a Golden Retreiver, so I obtained that dog too. They were born a mere 10 days apart and have been "buds" since moving in with me. The second Dal's name, AJ, is in deference to Alex. The Golden is Cal. Some called me crazy for getting two pups at once, but this was a great decision. They were trained together, raised together, and they bonded. At a dog park, they play more with each other than any other dog. We truly have our own little pack.
I made sure I corrected all the "mistakes" I did the first time, such as real training. I cannot recommend training enough. Training teaches them AND teaches you.
The picture below was taken when they were still pups, but they look very similar as adults (just bigger). Cal is a classic Golden - loves just about everyone. You can frighten him, so he rushes behind me for safety. But he just loves to be pet - can't wait. Even when he's a bit timid, he wants to play. LOL! And AJ is a classic Dal - always finding a way to get in trouble, yet demanding attention. He adores snuggling.
My life is a joy with them in it.

| sorry i am having trouble attaching a pic. but imagine a 3 year old boxer mixed with lab. Kirby is his name, and spoiled by his mother (me) is his game. LMAO. hubby and i adopted him almost 2 years ago (in Oct) from the local shelter. We think he is a katrina puppy. He's got a 15 year old sister named Kitty, a diabetic cat.

Wow, a dog post! Right up my alley!
My dog is my whole world at the moment.
He is an Anatolian Shepherd and he is HUGE. 115 lbs, and can stretch out toe-to-toe at 7 feet long.
His name is Saint.Attached Image (viewed 42 times):
