Hi guys been a while since I posted, I'm back on the Burn the fat feed the muscle and back down the gym, I've read the ebook so I know what I'm doing for the most part BUT I'm only getting 3 meals a day in so my question.
I wake up around 10is and go to bed around 12-1 am I dont work so I have plenty of free time I normally hit the gym around 1 pm but I need to know how long before and after exercise I should eat as I do want to get say 5 meals in per day. Any thoughts as I no its no good eating just before as I will only be burning the food just eaten.
Any thoughts most welcome as I cant remember what was recommended.
Cheers Jon.

You're awake for 14-15 hours. To fit 5 meals in 14 hours is a meal every 3.5 hours (for example 10am 1.30pm 5pm 8.30pm midnight) Obviously that clashes with your workout so probably bring it 30-60 minutes later. You need to Google 'pre workout nutrition' what is your main goal, is it fat loss or building muscle mass? Remember that Tom's basic advice is to roughly split daily calories between the meals and keep the macronutrient ratios the same (carb/protein/fat 50/30/20) at each meal.
Then (also in the book)( there are the more advanced tweaks, carb tapering, eating more in the mornings and less at night, zig zaging and carb cycling.

Thanks for reply, thats the problem it does clash with my work out I really need to hit the gym first thing in the morning's then it will be easy.
Yesterday I got 5 meals in but not 3-4 apart more like 2 but smaller I dont fancy eatimg at midnight just before bed.
Maybe have a samll meal around 12is one hour before my work out not sure though.
If I'm working out at 1pm I dont get home until around 2.30. so from 10am to 3is no food thats 5 hours not to bad but not perfect then 5.30pm then 8pm then 9.30pm.
Thats roughly what I've been doing and seems to fit with when I get hungry so thats when I eat.
I think I'll try this for awhile so how it go's if not then I'm just going to have to get down the gym in the morning's.
cheers jon

| I would suggest a light snack before a workout an hour before light grapes, fruit, bag of peanuts. After the workout then go into a full meal. This will keep you light, give you energy, and time to digest something small.
