Looking for advice on this diet plan:

Base: 1000 calories

3 pieces of bread, 2 cups of milk, 2 cans of tuna. Roughly 15.75g fat, 108g Carbs, 70.5g pro.

Add several fruits and veggies to gain an extra 200-300 cal, as well as several key minerals and vitamins.

Every 2 days a supplement to fill any gaps which the diet isn't providing.

Basically low fat, low cal, high pro and moderate carbs.

1200-1300 calories is very low...no matter what your weight/height. And I'm thinking you'll get sick of bread and tuna....I hope you plan on switching it up!!

High protein will not prevent muscle loss.  Fat people have lot of muscle and when we diet we lose some of it. It cannot be avoided. Strength training will help along with gradual caloric reduction and plenty of carbs.

Sounds a bit dull and boring.  Variety is very important when losing wieght.  Live a little-have some beef or rice!

1000 calories is way too little. I was on that diet before, lost about 20 pounds in like 2 month but I lost lot of strength and you feel unbalanced.

it does work though. try alternating tuna with salmon, grilled chicken, brown rice instead of just bread time to time. Consume good carbs instead of bad carbs

OK I know I am the new girl here and all,

my friend who is a licensed trainer told me 1st of all dont think of it as a diet but a life style change.  I too am trying to keep my daily calories maxed at around 1300.

I have a 5-6 times a day meal plan my largest calorie intake meals are lunch and dinner.  Not using slim fast or anything just nutricious food choices.  I am packing a combat bag full of breakfast, snacks and lunches for the entire work week and keeping in the fridge there.

I am also planning to not be such a couch potato and getting a gazelle to boot.  My biggest mistake was eating sooooooo much processed and fast food during my days and not getting enough exercise.

Good luck to us all!

Hey ericlim1226!

Can you tell us just what the good carbs and the bad carbs are so we don't mistake one for the other?

Thanks.

Jackie
