Does anyone here use an indoor bike trainer? I bought a pretty expensive bike(for outdoor riding) last spring and love it. Winter is coming and I can't afford to buy an indoor exercise bike, so I was thinking of buying an indoor bike trainer that hooks up to my bike. I just want to know how well they work and if the cheaper ones would be ok to start off with. I would appreciate any help/advice.
Thanks, Amy

I would think you could find an exercise bike for just as cheap as something like that. Maybe a used one or something. Unless you want to get more use out of the bike you already bought. Which makes sense also. I would look for used ones.
Sorry, I don't know much about them. I looked at them one time myself but never did get one.

| The bikes we bought were pretty expensive, so I can't go out and buy a good exercise bike. I found a couple of those trainers for under $100, I'm just not sure how long it will last. I have a pretty nice treadmill, but I have been getting really bad shin splints. I went out and bought a new pair of shoes, but that hasn't helped. Maybe I'm just carrying to much weight. I decided to buy the Slim & 6 dvd's. My sister got them and she is having great results with them. I just need something to keep me going while the ground is covered in white yucky stuff :)

Read reviews on them before buying and if you bought your bikes at a local bike store go ask them for pointers. How much money did you spend on your bikes??? They make winter cold riding gear it will help I know first hand. I never stop riding no matter what the weather is .Shin splints with time will go away just make sure to stretch and look them up if you don't know how to stretch there.
