 Hi All, I have joined Patchers Easter weight loss challenge and have challenged myself to a weight loss of 5lbs.  Hopefully I can stick to this.  I have tried to keep up with my journal, but have only written in about half of what I have been eating, but it is a start.  I just get so tired or so sick feeling, that I just can't keep up with it all.  UUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH, be glad when I am back on a routine and feeling better.  Good Luck All,

Thank you Smallerme.  You can go to tickerfactor.com and they have all kinds of tickers.  It is really easy to use and no signing up.  I like all of your cute smileys on the treadmills..........someday, I will have time to find all of those fun add ons.  Loved your diary posts.

Well, this weekend has been hard, I have got the flu, or that crud that HisGal was talking about, this does not help the surgery at all.  Coughing like I have never coughed before.  I have lost some weight thought, 1 lb.  Yeah, keeping the food diary has been a bust........It should be better once I am in a routine again.

welcome back SOONTOBEME. i just joined this site a couple weeks ago and it has been very helpful i am already 7 1/2 lbs down.  i see that you joined the easter challange too... i think its great for all of us to have a mini goal and it has sure kept me on track.

i think losing that first one pound is the hardest because it means youve made a committment to yourself.. good job and keep up the great work:tongue:

Thank you Valnadeau,

You are doing great also.  7 1/2 lbs in just a couple of weeks........wow..........hopefully once the DR clears me I will be working out and will be pushing for more weight loss on my short term goals, but I recently had surgery and have to wait for the healing and what the DR says.  So for now, a 1lb a week weight loss is good for me.

HI All,

Well the journal are still not going very well, just trying to eat at this point.  I had an asthma attack today and wasn't feeling well at all this weekend, caught a bug from my dear husband and son.  The dr put me on prednisone, so I may actually have a weight gain at the end of this week, it has a tendency to put water on you.  It also makes me very hot, so to go along with my hot flashes.........it is awful.  Well, hopefully with in a few days I will be feeling better.  Will write more tomorrow.

Yes we can.  I am just hoping that this doesn't set me back.  I so want to be healthy, and have so much to loose.  Right now even the 5lb weight loss that I have set for Easter, seems like so much.  I just don't want to be disappointed.

hang in there!!! i know sometimes like it seems like a lost cause especially being sick but thats more of a reason(ithink) to stick to it. if i had given up last week when my doctor told me no more exercise i wouldnt be where i am today and i wouldnt want to lose more.

As long as you keep the attitude that you want to be healthy and lose weight than youve won half the battle.  losing the weight may be a long process but it will more than pay off in the end. so keep it up and when your off the meds hopefully things will easy up a little:grin:

Judy:rose:,

I really feel for you, that you can't exercise yet!:crying:   We all know how important that is to weight loss.    And I think you told me once, that when (not if) you get some of the weight off, your asthma will probably be better?   Is that right?   So, I'm sure you are doubly anxious to get at it.   But, make sure you heal first!   Don't overdo it, and set yourself and your health backwards.    Get better:grin:

I was just thinking..........maybe this time of not being able to exercise, will be a good time to really concentrate on the eating plan?    You've had a lot to deal with in the last year..........so maybe one step at a time?

I just know you can do it!    And I want it for you so badly.....because I've been there, and know how good it feels when the weight is coming off (although I'm not knowing that feeling at the present time:tongue:).

Thanks so much, again, for the encouraging words in my diary.    I really, really, needed to hear them.

Blessings and prayers:heart:

Judy:rose:, feel free to check out my meals in my diary.    The low carb days are about 50% protein-20% fat-30% carbs.    And the maintenance days are about 30% protein-20% fat-50% carbs.    Not all my meals are individually those percentages, but close.   So, maybe you can get some ideas of foods to put together???   Just a thought...........it's the protein that I sometimes have trouble getting high enough.

I have always done better on a high protein lower carb diet.  Carbs are not my friends, but for some reason today, that is all that I have wanted is carbs carbs carbs and it didn't help that I had a coca cola........didn't stay off of them long did I.  Well, I will log my total day results later.  Thank you Pat for all the sweet words from you.  You do know my last year..........it can only get better can't it?  Judy

:grin:Went to DR today, I can go back to work tomorrow and have no restrictions, just have to take it easy and work up to being normal again.  I will start at Curves again on Monday as long as the asthma isn't to bad and see how well I can do.  I of course walk when weather permits it, so tomorrow on my breaks as long as it is not raining, I will walk.  Hopefully it doesn't prove to be to much for me.  Well have to get going, the bed is calling.

Hi Judy,

I really feel for you having to be on prednisone.  I am a respiratory therapist and know how nasty those steroids can be.  I actually have a good friend that gets so "screwed up" when she has to take it that she ends up having to "commit" herself to mental health!!  They work on people in all kinds of different ways, but weight gain'/bloating is a really common one.

I hope you take it easy as you go back to work, dealing with the asthma AND the recovery from surgery.

Glad you joined the Easter challenge!

So glad:tongue: you got the OK from your Dr.     Just remember :caution::caution::caution: not to overdo it!    That's what I'd do..........I seem to always be all or nothing!   Build it up :up_arrow::up_arrow: slowly and make it work for you.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I've been procrastinating on the exercise, since those two back to back snow storms:angry:   (Other than Curves!)    But, today's meals were pretty in line last night, not much meal prep to do, so this morning I did my YBB (Yoga Booty Ballet) DVD.   I was surprised how good that felt:shock:   I even remembered most of it, and it must have been at least 3 weeks or more since I did it!   And the sun is shining and suppose to be close to 50 degrees.   I grabbed my walking tennies this morning.......so I might go for a walk after Curves.   There isn't a breeze, to speak of, so it shouldn't be too cold.   Friday will be better, if it gets near 60.

I'm so glad you are back with us:tongue::tongue::tongue:.     I can hardly wait to see your progress!   I want this so badly for you:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

 Hi All,

Thank you Patchers.......work was totally exhausting today, not much sleep last night, but the asthma is getting better.  I didn't walk today on my breaks, just getting back into the swing of things at work was exhausting.......no naps.......hard to get use to.....  Well, I am off to bed, maybe I can actually sleep tonight.  HA, will post my food later.

Thanks Pat for all the support that you give me.  Life is going to change, I am only going to be getting healthier.

Have a great day everyone and I hope everyones weight loss goes down each week.  But, do remember weight is not the only thing, sometimes, just the inches disappearing are great, remember that muscle weighs more than fat, and we do want more muscle than fat, it looks much leaner and much better.

See you tomorrow.

Hi All,

Well our computer crashed, and we had to go out and buy a new one....motherboard, went to the mothership.......you know that GEEK Squad at best buy........I think they are aliens.

Well, my weigh in wasn't as bad as I thought that it would be since I have not been tracking my food.  I lost another pound, so I am on track for the weigh in.  Hopefully with me being back to work full time, I will be more in a routine and things will be better to keep track of.  I start at curves again on Monday, will also weigh and meausre, not that I want to see how much I have expanded in the tummy area........(swelly belly from surgery still), but oh well.

Here are my tickers

  Hi All,

Well, I kept my book today, of course wasn't really watching what I was eating.  Just finished doing my intake and output, not sure, but, it would be great if I burned that many calories today.

Calories          Protein   Fat      Carbs   Fiber   Sodium

1,419.5           93.0       35.8    174.8   8.8      2,110.7

% of Calories: 27%       23%    50%

Calorie Balance: 1,419 consumed - 3,644 burned = 2,225 lost

Well, I haven't eaten my sugar free pudding yet, but I did already figure it in.  It is my snack at 8 tonight......yum, yum, yum.

I will talk with you all later.

Judy,

Looks like you had a pretty good day!   Your percentages look really good .....but I'm wondering if your calories might be a little low?    Have you figured out your unadjusted RMR?    I'd hate to see you stall out after a bit, because you weren't eating enough.

I surely know the frustration of stalling out!   And it's not fun:sad::crying::sad::crying:

Congrats on the 1 lbs loss too!:star::rainbow::star::rainbow::star::rainbow:    Yeah for you:grin::grin::grin:

Thanks Pat,  I was wondering that too...........not sure why so low.  I just felt stuffed all day long.........Being back at work tomorrow, I will probably eat more since it is more structured.....today besides dinner being planned..........I just ate when I wasn't busy or if I was hungry.

I will talk with you tomorrow.

Yeah, I know what you mean there.    Many times I can't believe it's time to eat again, because I still feel stuffed, too.    I think it's the 5 meals a day..........I'm wondering if that's why I don't feel bingy anymore (with the exception of TTOM-then anything remotely resembling chocolate or salt looks irresistable!).

I just wish all this controlled eating would have some results on the scale!:angry::angry:

Have a good week back at work...........don't overdo it, though:tongue:

 Hi All,

Sorry I haven't posted for a few days, been really busy at work, 10 hr days right now and ready to go in already this morning for 6 hrs.  Lots and lots of overtime, but with healing still in my body, I have been coming home eating a light meal, visiting with hubby and sons for a short while and in bed by 8pm. I have done very well with my curves workout and walking on my breaks at work, but, the eating has been really bad.....high calories and fat, will post all of them tomorrow.........maybe they won't be as bad as I think they will be..........and then we are back to work at a normal pace, will post much more next week.......I have been keeping up with everyone though and congrats HISGAL distinguished now......great for you.......See you all tomorrow or later today.

HI All, Since our challenge is over thought that I would post in a different color now.

My total weight loss for the challenge was 6lbs, I am now at 216lbs.........woo hoo......didn't think I would make it.  I must have finished flushing the predizone out of my system.  4 lbs in one week, usually only happens when I start a new starvation diet, and it is usually all water.

I have been walking everyday, working out at curves, everyday except friday, sat and sunday.  Did help husband with detailing cars yesterday, is a very physical job, worse than working out, about 6 hours of washing, drying, waxing, vacuuming, shampooing, window cleaning (stooping, stretching, walking, kneeling) that makes a very stiff and sore Judy the next day.

Here is my postings for Wed, Thur, Fri, and Sat.

Wed 04/04/2007

Calories 1312.8, Protein 86.0/26%, Fat 33.1/22%, Carbs 170.6/52%, Fiber 13.2grams, Sodium 1188.4

Thur 04/05/2007

Calories 1432.7, Protein 58.9/17%, Fat 52.7/33%, Carbs 177.9/50%, Fiber 10.4, Sodium 3380.0

Friday 04/06/2007

Thank you Valnadeau.  I was really suprised because I was unable to exercise due to having some surgery in Feb.  I did not start exercising again until March 26th, so I was very very happy.  I hope that this challenge goes as well, since I am hosting it.

Hi there Judy!! It's me again hee hee

Ya know what I had days like that too yesterday and the day before.. I was reheating food like crazy lol I went to the market yesterday and bought tons of fruit so that should be nice to graze on when I not too hungry:cool: I was pretty low too yesterday, even after having a double stacked turkey burger lol Oh you should see my turkey burger yum. I grilled reg beef for hubby and turkey burgers for me.. Oh and I had a fruit salad and I mean fruit in my salad, strawberry, apple & raisins with NF ranch dressing and boy was it good.

After that I was stuffed, before bed I had a fruit & nut granola bar and that held me through the night:cool: I think I found a healthier granola bar by Nutri Grain no corn syrup labeled as the second ingred. in fact it must be very very low because I don't remember seeing it .. Ok I just went and checked and it is very low on the list.. it taste of oats and fruit:yum: much better than the Nature Valley I use to eat.

I don't sweat the calories but I do make sure to have a higher day after a few days of lower cals just to keep me pumped :rabbit: plus it nice!

We'll I hope your day is blessed Judy:rainbow: and thanks for the sweet comment left in my diary... it just feels so GOOD to share the love of the Lord:heart: with others!

I know what you mean Judy hubby went shopping last week and didn't get anything I was too thrilled about:sad: so I refused to eat!! Went shopping myself:tongue: It's funny though because even if we have food I use to eat it's like not having any.. no fruit or salad or anything:shock:.. So I know what you mean

Plus I seem to shop more often when eating fresh.. With hubby and I we are now spending double on grocery he has his and I have mine.. I say I eat less now :o)

Cooking cabbage right now, went to the market got a huge one for 89 cent :O) cooking it with turkey sausage... excellent cheapie dinner, pretty healthy too!

See ya later :o)

Good for you, Judy :rose:, I should have been out walking today!

I think we had a gorgeous day out?????   I sat in front of the computer, trying to get the checkbooks balanced and get them both to agree with the computer program.   I refuse to put away all this paperwork mess, until I actually have things caught up!

I was down this morning, but will report next Sunday.........I weighed so fast, registered that I was down, and forgot what the number on the scale was.   But I know I was close to getting into the 150's!   That would seem like progress!  Muscles still very sore from painting at church yesterday........not sure if I can do more than Curves on Monday or not.

Hope your week goes great!

Hi Soon

I have read your diary with great interest. You have done well, despite all the ups and downs. I think the fact you are still here and recording your *food life* is a testament to you. The hardest thing is staying on target and making changes as you go along. It is obvious that you are aware of what you should and shouldn't do and you are definitely making efforts to move towards your ultimate goal of 100 pound weight loss. Every small step makes all the difference . Congratulations on reaching your Easter goal weight loss <claps happily>-be proud of yourself!.

Blessings,

Zara :turtle:
