Oh ok. I have cheated many times anyway lol. I've just had 2 deli sandwiches even though I was meant to eat 'protein'. However, the rest of the day also contains eating protein (with the exception of one meal) so I figured eating something a little different won't hurt (also, I can't see why we are not allowed wholemeal bread on this BC diet). Besides, this diet is about varying the types of food you eat each day. So I hope this is fine and won't ruin the diet, because as long as we vary what we eat, it'll work out right? I mean, we don't have to follow the exact diet through the 10 days?

Oh, and I do a lot of exercise each day (i'm an active person) so hopefully that will even it out a bit haha.

Hi,
I was thinking of getting FL4I, I am a little confused is Beyond Calories part of it or is it a completely different diet.
I need to get in the mindset now that I am going to start a diet:apple: straight after Christmas.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Adele.  Beyond Calories is a little diffferent than the diet generator with Fat Loss 4 Idiots.  I honestly don't know all the details, other than you get 6 meals with BC( Beyond Calories) and 4 meals per day with the DG (diet generator).  You do not get all that is allowed onthe DG with the BC, so some people like the DG better.  Also, the DG gives you your meals to eat per day... all spelled out.. what your 4 meals will consist of, which many people really like that structure (like me).  It is easy to follow and it works!  People don't post as often in this thread, so if you have anymore questions, why don't you come to the Fat Loss 4 Idiots GEBERAL DISCUSSION thread here...  http://www.caloriesperhour.com/forums/forum3/214-231.html   Others here have been on the BC and can answer your questions there.  And we can answer all your questions about the DG there, too.  Looking forward to seeing you there!

Hello everyon!  I have been on BC since January 5 and have lost 18 lbs.  I encourage you not to way yourself until the morning after day 10. why?  I believe that after you do a 10 cycle and start on another, the first few days when the fruits are increased, I believe there could be a slight weight gain.  Think about it.  Day 5 through like Day 10 is very high protein and no carb.  You go and throw carbs, even though they are good carbs, in and your body holds on to them.  So don't get discouraged if you gain a little!

Today is my day 9 and I can't wait until Wednesday morning to weigh in.  I was bad last night for the Super Bowl.  How couldn't I cheat when my team is sooooo AWESOME! GO STEELERS!

Please write back so I know there are more like me out there.  I need motivated to stay motivated.

Good Luck all and God Bless!

Sweet - That is great news!  Congratulations on the losses!  Keep it up!  I did the diet generator.. never did BC but I know some on the forum have done BC.  At the time I purchased the diet I didn't think I would need that, so I really never had the chance to try it.  But the DG worked great for me and I lost all my weight.  So whatever works!  Keep us updated!  You can always come over to general discussion and say hi to everyone so they can meet you.

So I'm really excited that I found this site. Wow, this is so great. I'm 20 at 155 right now and I started the BC diet yesterday. I'm just looking to tone up, you know? I'm hoping this'll help me reach my goal faster :)

What I'm wondering is how far through the diet did anyone start noticing weight loss? I'm also exercising quite a bit, the diet is actually secondary to going to the gym for me...let me know!

Hi Katie.  Welcome.  I will let someone who has done BC answer your question, but I wanted to let you know that FL4I diet overall is really great.  Many of us have done really well.  I lost over 45 lbs. in only 4 1/2 months.  Good luck to you.  If no one answers about the BC on this thread, you can always come over to the general discussion thread, and there are a lot of others on there who can help, as some have also done or are doing BC.  Good luck!

Katie, I'd be HAPPY to answer this for you!

At first, you might not notice the weight loss. I'm talking the first couple pounds (for some, it's the first 2-5. For others, 5-10). The initial loss is usually from retained water, and because you're drinking a whole TON now (notice the bathroom trips rise?!), you'll also notice that bloating goes down, and water weight goes down REAL quick too... Kind of backwards, isn't it?

So after the first few pounds, BINGO! Your clothes actually begin to get a little larger, and you start to pull at the waist-band of your pants (like I did) and go, "HEY! I'M DOING IT!!!" That's the reaction you want every time going into the SECOND week of the 11-day cycle. People get hung up on wanting to lose the weight too quickly sometimes, and get disappointed when they don't get those quick results. Numbers not coming off as quick as you wanted? That's fine! Modify and keep going. One step back doesn't signify a failure. EVERY STEP FORWARD has something for everyone to learn. I'm still learning, and I'm sure I'll have my fair share of frustration. Keep focused, stay determined, and don't give up. THAT'S what gets the results.

YOU CAN DO IT!

I would be MORE than happy to give you my EXACT meal plan, my exact exersize regiment, and techniques to make the diet easier for myself.   As called for in the original Beyond Calories, the author only stated that the diet lasted 10 days.  To me, that seemed a little silly; it falls two days short of a fri-sat-sun cheat weekend like the original diet generator.  So I modified my Beyond Calories diet, as I've said before, to an 11-day diet plan to make for a 3 day weekend like everyone else!

And guess what?!  IT'S FREAKIN' SWEET!!  :grin::grin::grin:  So if you guys are interested, I will post my (albeit extremely boring, bland, plain, yet tasty) menu day - by - day with what I do for exersize.  Keep in mind, too, that I work in a warehouse, and I'm on my feet for nearly 7 - 8 hours a day, so I get extra help in the walking department anyways.  It SHOULD be noted, however, that even with that extra 'help', it didn't seem to effect the rate of weight loss any.

POST and let me know!  I'll get right on it ASAP.  =)

Steve - Thank you so much for being so upbeat! It's awesome to see a guy dieting, guys usually loaf around...not really but they don't care enough to be so supportive! I love it! Do you think you could send me your diet plan as well? This 10 day thing is killing me, my cheat days are sunday and monday, and mondays are tooough for me.

You say modify. That word scares me, because modifying for me is "stick some chocolate into there!" Lol.

KatieA, Sunshine, and EVERYONE! I'm about to post my diet for this cycle, and give you insight as to how I mentally get myself into the game so that way it can not only be a great learning experience, but a great awakening AND fun at the same time! I've learned so much about myself simply through diet and exercise that I don't know where to begin... except at the beginning! OFF WE GO! Be prepared. This WILL be a long post...

My diet plan of choice is, of course, Beyond Calories, and unfortunately as everyone figured out, the author wanted to make it difficult by making it a 10-day diet. Look at your calendars, people! That's Monday of week one, and ends on WEDNESDAY OF THE NEXT WEEK!!! What kind of #%@&! is that?! Why can't it be like the DG where it's 11 days so I get three days to be 'special' like everyone else?! Note the word MODIFICATION that I've brought up before, because I'm about to use it... lol

When I saw that, I modified that number right away to fit my gluttonous needs for a full weekend of goodies. My version is an 11-DAY Beyond Calories diet plan, and I do not use any special fixings for my foods. What I see in the four groups of foods is what I get, no seasonings, etc. I can see where all of you guys / gals are beginning to roll your eyes a bit, thinking, "That's gotta be really hard!" Believe me, I thought it would be too. Then I looked at the menu choices and made sure to be picky. If I was to do it BY THE BOOK, I was gonna have the best tasting plain foods I could pick.

Now, for the complete 11-day menu. Write this down if you're interested. Right off, I should tell you that my drinks consist of all the diet mtn. dew / diet A&W root beer I can drink, and a ton of water! WATER IS KEY!!!!!!!!1!!11!11!1!!1!!ONE!1!!!1ONE! The meals don't go in order, so pick them for whichever you want to eat... lunch, breakfast, snack, din-din, etc.

DAY 1:
Apples, Grapes
Swiss Cheese Slices, Turkey (Note: all cheese from here on is actually block cheese from the super market, Crystal Farms block cheese!)
Ham, Cheese
Mushrooms, Lettuce, Tomato, Hardboiled Egg (Odd combo? I'm an odd man! Remember, odd combos can work, but if it doesn't, look at your groups, choose something else that fits your taste, and MODIFY!)
Apple, Grapes
Apple, Grapes

DAY 2:
Apple, Grapes
Hardboiled Egg, Cheese
Lettuce, Tomato, cuccumber
Lettuce, shrimp
Ham, Turkey
Lettuce, Tomato, Cuccumber (GREEN BEANS)

*I put green beans in brackets because if I don't feel like having yet another salad, I'll load up on green beans until I turn INTO one. They're actually dang good plain! Always have a plan B if you don't feel like plan A is going to work for that evening.

A note on Turkey / Ham and portions. The type I personally use is the oscar meyer lunch meat types, 98% fat free, TASTY AS HECK, family pack 1 1/2 lbs pack. They last me most of the week, it seems. For portion size, all I do is grab a hand full, and make sure that the tips of my finger nails can touch the meaty part of my thumb... it's basically a hand full of meat, and it's ALWAYS more than enough to satisfy me in one sitting with a small measure of whatever else I'm supposed to have. I learned that 'hand full' trick from my dad, who had gastric bypass and had to have his dinner in just THAT SIZE. Seriously, it's perfect for me, and it leaves me satisfied without being hungry for more.

DAY 3:
Cheese, Hardboiled egg
Green Beans, Apple (WIERD Combo alert!! ...but good!)
Lettuce, tomato, cuccumber, shrimp
turkey, ham
cottage cheese, cheese (This combo fills you QUICKLY. be careful)
Lettuce, tomato, cuccumber (GREEN BEANS ALT)

DAY 4:
Apple, grapes
Ham, Turkey
Cheese, Cottage Cheese
lettuce, tomato, cuccumber
green beans, peas (turning green yet??)
Ham, turkey

DAY 5: (God bless this day... men will LOVE me for this...)
Cheese, Ham
Hardboiled Egg, Turkey
Turkey, Cheese
Ham, Cheese
Turkey, Ham
Mushroom, Lettuce, Tomato (sniff... meat... God meat is awesome...)

DAY 6:
Lettuce, tomato, mushroom, green beans
cottage cheese, turkey
ham, cheese
green beans (LOAD UP AND BE GREEN!)
Ham, Cheese
Cottage Cheese, Cheese

DAY 7:
Green Beans (No, I am not tired of these. I am in love with the Jolly Green Giant!)
Turkey, Cheese
Ham, Cheese
Lettuce, Tomato, cuccumber, mushrooms
Cottage cheese, turkey (wow... this gets wierd, but it's still tasty!)
Peas (Ho ho ho!)

DAY 8:
Peas / Green Beans (Load up!) *Peas fill you up quicker, green beans are lesser in calories. Your choice.
Turkey, Cheese
Lettuce, tomato, Cuccumber
Ham, cottage cheese
Turkey, Ham
Ham, Cheese

Day 9:
Hardboiled Egg, Cheese
Lettuce, Tomato, Cuccumber
Turkey, Cheese
Ham, Cottage cheese
Green Beans (I'm wearing the big leafy toga, I swear!)
Turkey, Ham

DAY 10:
Hardboiled Egg, Cheese
Turkey, Cheese
Lettuce, tomato, cuccumber
green beans (Load up!)
ham, cheese
Turkey, ham

FINAL DAY:
Apples, Grapes
Cheese, Turkey
Ham, Cheese
Mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, Hardboiled Egg
Apples, Grapes
Apples, Grapes

CHEAT DAYS!!!!!!!

For those that are new to this diet, I would make an odd, but highly suggested requirement for this weekend. GO NUTS! I mean, go hog wild. Eat and stuff yourself as much as possible, then weigh yourself on monday... See that huge number you just gained back? Doesn't make you feel so good, does it? That's what happened to me the first cycle, but fear not. The first cheat weekend is your first awakening and learning experience. It forces you to take a good, LONG hard look at yourself and the hard work you put in to losing the weight you did on that cycle. What an AMAZING accomplishment, too!!

...then as fast as you lose it, it's back. You feel depressed when you fall off the bike after having that much momentum right?? Remember one thing after something like this: It's NEVER about how many times you fall down. It's about how you pick yourself back UP and continue moving forward that counts. What happened before doesn't matter. You're doing this to be a better person, and you KNOW you're going to succeed! Believe it, and everyone around you will believe in you, too!

So, first timers! The first weekend is under your belt, you go through another cycle, and a cheat weekend comes up. What do you do?? MODIFY! =) Select the most tasty foods off of your BC menu, have those, and have one or two cheat meals on fri. and sat. each. On Sunday, let yourself enjoy anything you want. No restrictions!! NONE! NOOOOOOOOONE!!!!!!! By limiting the amount of cheat meals you have, you limit the amount of 'cheat weight' you have to lose on your next cycle, regardless of how easy it is to lose.

EXERCISE! What is it that I do that keeps me going? According to the book, 45 minute walking sessions, or two thirty minute sessions, if I'm not mistaken. Let's be honest, some people don't have the energy to make it out the door after a long day of work. I hold down a job in a warehouse, and I'm on my feet for 7-8 hours a day. So I don't think walking is in the cards for me... What's the next best alternative? Simple! It's relaxing, challenging, and even takes the place of cardio exercise if done the right way... and it's something no guy would want to be caught dead doing, but I'll GLADLY admit I do...

YOGA!

I can't stress enough how great Yoga is. My flexibility has skyrocketed, my back has gotten better, I can breathe better, and has helped me drop 6 pants sizes along with this diet. It's a POWERFUL tool for me personally. Three to five days a week, depending on how I feel, I'll plug in a DVD and just fold myself up into a Yogi-Pretzel! AWESOME STUFF!!

Now, little tips to make yourself sane:

1) Sometimes, you'll have buddies, family, etc, that when you walk into their home, they'll have on their tables the most TEMPTING looking foods in the world. When I walk in the door at night, sometimes the groceries will still be on the table, and all the cookies, chips, pastas, and everything GOOD will be sitting out. Dad'll look at me and just grin.

"Son, how 'bout it?! You can get off your diet for one night!" he'll say with a big smile.

I'll walk straight to the fridge, grab a piece of celery, take a bite, and start mock-crying, "This is the best chocolate I've ever tasted!!!!"

Stupid little gimmicks like that keep me from KILLING people for leaving all the good looking stuff just lying out.

2) If you're feeling a bit hungry, grab a diet pop. Carbonation will fill that void up quickly. It's a fake feeling of course, but it'll help for the time being. Most of my hunger pangs come at the end of the day when all my meals have been consumed.

3) When cheat day comes, and people have tortured you nonstop with food of their own just for fun, make it a point not to let them know when your cheat weekend is. That way, when it hits, you walk up to their junk food stash, grab two big hand fulls of the weapons they used against you, and STUFF IT IN YOUR MOUTH, laughing hysterically. Word of advice... don't do that to the head of your company's M&M's. He'll go ape and suspend you for the day. (Whatever, it was a great three day weekend!)

That's all for now... I apologize for the LONG WINDEDNESS of my approach, but I SINCERELY hope my entry helps people out with guiding them in the right direction if they've had any problems or apprehensions about starting or even continuing. PM me if you have ANY questions, and I won't hesitate to answer them as soon as possible!! Thank you SO much for listening!

Steve, thanks for taking the time to detail your plan and success tips!!
So you repeat day one as day 11?  Are your beans and peas...frozen, fresh or canned?  No condiments at all...no mustard  on the meat or salad dressing on your lettuce mushroom tomato? Do you drink any hot beverages or just the water and soda? How do you space your meals?
I can't remember how old you are...do you mind sharing that?  How long have you been overweight?
Big congrats on your success and sticking to this so closely without letting anyone undermine your effort!!  You are doing amazingly well!  Good for you, Steve!  A whole new life is in store for you...healthy and slim for life!
Thanks again for so patiently answering all our questions!

To answer your questions in order, Ms. Sunshine:

1) I just repeat day 1 as day 11 due to ease. I can plan out another day, but I'm too lazy, to be honest, and the results have still been stellar regardless. Until I see a need to modify the last day into something else, I think a repeat day will suffice for now.

2) I'm all about the canned goods, but don't let that stop you from getting frozen vegetables. From what I understand, frozen vegetables actually have better taste, and thus more satisfying. The primary reason for me to go canned is because of accessibility if I need myself a QUICK dinner, instead of having to cook it up. C'mon, I'm a GUY! You think guys .... well, you think I have any cooking skill whatsoever outside of corn dogs??:cool::cool: Not I! LOL I'm slowly learning though!

3) I haven't given thought to any hot beverages yet, as I haven't done enough research into viable options. I would assume - and forgive me for the TMI factor - that since some people might have trouble with bowel movements, straight black coffee might be good . I'll tell you what! If you give me the weekend, I'll give you some good hot drinks that might just tickle your fancies!! Deal??

4) My meals are spaced out every two hours when possible. Usually 8AM, 10AM, 12 noon, the odd ball at 3PM, the drive home from work throws it off to 5:30PM, then the final meal at 7:30. In between the 5:30 and 7:30 meal, I do my yoga.

5) I am 27 years old, and I've been overweight since 2004. it actually cost me my job in the military. I got depressed when my engagement was called off and - being younger and not so smart - decided to let things eat at me. I let myself go, and I let it affect not only me, but my career, my self esteem, and my self respect. This diet is symbolic, in a sense, where I'm getting rid of my old self and looking forward towards a brighter future, and so far I'm digging what I'm seeing!

Any more questions?! BRING IT! I got answers! ....maybe!

^_^ I'm flattered! You're right; it's all about simplicity. If you keep everything as simple as possible, it makes your diet that much more easy to manage. The stress level is easier to manage, too!!

What is this I hear about using ketchup as a condiment on some of your food, though? Is that possible for BC? Or is that just a way for people to stay sane? I didn't see that listed as a possible choice for 'toppings' in the book... then again, they really didn't specify toppings, so I didn't use my head all that much either...

...again, another guy issue, eh?!

Thanks sooo... much for sharing all your successful BC info.  You're doing great so hang in there.  Sounds like you are really turning alot of things around for yourself so keep your upbeat attitude, hold your head up, and be proud  (but keep an eye in the mirror to watch for your skin turning green - boy you like green beans).  I'm starting the New Instant Classic 11 Day BC today (one meal down already).  Thanks again for the inspiration.

Hi Believe!

Thank you for your kind words!  My adaptation is by no means perfect yet, but it has been extremely effective so far.  Remember, if the foods don't fit your personal tastes, MODIFY MODIFY MODIFY!   It's all about what you like (I'm a crazy guy... still wearing the leafy toga of green goodness) and what you can stomach for 11 days.

Can I ask what you do for your exercise?  Do you do the walking or have you done something besides the book's suggestion as well?  What was your secret weapon during the 10-day cycle originally for food?  Obviously, if you saw day 5 for me, it's MEAT!  WOOOO HOOOOO!!!!  ^_^

Seriously, BEST of luck on the new 11-day cycle, and I guarantee you that the extra day that you tacked on to give you a three day cheat weekend will be well worth it!  Any questions or concerns, feel free to PM me and I will PM you as fast as humanly possible.   Happy eating and best wishes -- OH!!  Before I forget!!

Sometimes eating all six meals is impossible for people!!   There have been a few days where I've missed three of my meals due to being busy, and I get into a meal deficit.  So at this point, what do you do?  Your body starts to say, "WTF, Steve?  You're not feeding me, so I'm going to slow down my metabolic rate a bit!!"  It's days like this where you need to think outside the menu a bit, but JUST A BIT.  Beyond Calories doesn't include bread, if you remember correctly.

So what have I done to get myself back on track without hindering weight or even progress?  The answer is simple:  a six-inch veggie delight from Subway!  Here's how I get mine prepped:

6-inch on white bread (remember; wheat or white doesn't matter from the original DG, OAT BRAN bread is your best bet, but for some reason, our subway doesn't carry it...)
American Cheese
Lettuce, tomato, pickles, black olives, MAYO, salt and pepper.

You read that right, I put mayo on mine.  MAYO!  The fatty stuff you find in the big glass containers at the supermarket?!  Yeah, that stuff!!  YUM!  You don't have to say 'light mayo' or 'heavy mayo', just 'mayo'.  They'll get it.  Now, with this size sandwich and the fixings, grab a diet soda either there or at home, eat slowly, and drink up!  That'll be enough to get you back on your feet without damaging your progress towards your weight loss goal.

Case and point?  I missed three meals myself yesterday, and weighed in at 243 1/2.  Went to subway, got everything I just mentioned, ate, continued my regular diet after that, yoga'd into the evening, woke up to see if I'd damaged my progress, and BAM!  242 3/4's.

MODIFICATION folks.  Responsible and simple modification.   I hope this helps!  Cheers and happy dieting!!

STEVE~ Loved reading about your success on the BC diet.  As part of my dieting, I have used it as well with "modification"  My diet was day 1 on the BC, Day 2 Fruit day just like the rest of my pals on the DG. Day 3-7 BC; Day 8 Veggie day  just like my pals on the DG and day 9-11 BC.  Then cheat weekend.  So all I did was leave off one of the BC days.  I used 9 BC, A fruit and A veggie day.  Misery loves company, so I wanted to share with the group here on F and V days.

I am down 20 pounds from last May 11, 2008.  I know that's not much, but I am now 134-135 lbs. and holding.  I have tried to get a little lower than that, but I have not been successful.  I'm a little frustrated because all I have been doing is losing my cheat weekend gain, so in essence I have been maintaining.  But the biggest Positive is that I have not been GAINING!

Love your posts and your sense of humor, so happy to have you as part of our IDIOT FAMILY!!!

'Ey Cubster!  I love being an idiot! :grin::grin::grin:

I never thought to incorporate a complete fruit day and a complete veggie day!!!  I have a feeling that this would drastically improve my weight loss potential coupled with what I do already, so perhaps on my next cycle, I'll have to update my menu to give it a trial run.

See?!  I'm a dude.  Dude's don't think THAT far outside the box!   Never would have even dreamed to think about that approach.  If it works, and mark my words, Cubster receives two push ups for every half a pound of weight lost on that diet cycle.  GUARANTEED!!!!

I...destroyed my cheat day. Oh, it was so bad. So, so bad. My little cousin turned 16 yesterday, so there was a party with cake and pizza and junk and pizza...and pizza. Sigh. Time to get back on the horse, my friends.

Wish me luck.

Katie - You may have "fallen down",  but you can get back up.  When you are down there is no where to go but up, right?  So get up, girlfriend, and get back in the saddle!  You will be ok, really!  :horse:Giddeeeeup!

P.S. This is about strength, will power, and desire, not so much luck.  I can wish you luck :clover:, but it's all up to YOU.   If we make a mistake, as long as we learn from it, consider it a stepping stone.   You CAN do it!

Hi all! I have been on the Fl4i diet generator for about 2 months now and am now switching to beyond calories. I have a question, when it says 1 food from group 1 and one food from group 4 does that mean I HAVE to eat from both groups or can I just eat from one??? And also if it says 4 foods from group such and such does that mean I have to have all 4 foods or can i have just 1? ??? Thanks in advance!

WELL, BUTTER MY BUTT AND CALL ME A BISCUIT!  LOOK WHO'S HERE!  Steve!  What a motivation!!!!!  WHERE IN THE WORLD HAVE YOU BEEN HIDING???

OKAY, so, I feel like I just lost 100 pounds just reading your post!  That was exhausting- but INVIGORATING!  WOW!  I can almost believe I can lose 40 pounds in a month (which is my goal), but age and sex are going to slow me down.  You are almost HALF my age and I'm a woman, so 40 pounds will NOT fall of me that quickly.  HOWEVER, I AM motivated!  I just started my second cycle of DG- the first cycle I lost 7.5 lbs.  It took me 2 days to lose 5 (everyone knows that's fluid) and then 9 days to lose 2.5 lbs.  My expectations for this next cycle are no more than 5 lbs total, hopefully.

I will say, not just to you, Steve, but to EVERYONE reading- I initially started the BC way back when and lost 7 pounds in 6 days.  By the end of the 10 days, I was down close to 10 pounds, but I switched over to the DG because of the NUMEROUS meals on the BC.  BUT...like I said, I think I might switch back to the BC after this cycle.

BTW- have you ever heard of the Body Blade?  My husband just found his - he forgot he had it (prior to our marriage).  I thought I might give it a try.

Dominoe~ I believe that you can eat one item per meal if that is what you prefer.  However, if you have only 2 items listed, I think the idea is that you're not supposed to eat 3 or more.  Hope that answers your question........Cubs

Hey AG! I'm SOOOO sorry I haven't responded quickly. I'm a volunteer in Minneapolis for a food shelf and I get quite busy with that, so please pardon my tardiness with my responses!! Don't destroy me!!!

Age and sex are only an excuse ***WINK***. You can do absolutely ANYTHING that you put your mind to. Granted, 40 lbs in a month for me was a PHENOMENAL result, the likes that I'll never see again. But even in this cycle when it's supposed to slow down, where people usually only see a 2 or 3 pound drop, I'm at a 5 pound loss, going for six before my cycle ends on friday! You know like all the others here, it's all about results. And dang it, WE GET 'EM!

Body Blade? What the heck is that?? I'm not sure what a body blade is. The only blades I know about cut me. I don't wanna be cut in half. I like being whole. That way I can have more whacky conversations with my body to post in the general discussion boards. PM me and tell me about it!! Then I can tell you what I use.

NOW! To go and answer the questions of a young and upcoming superstar in the general boards!! Happy losing, and NICE TALKING TO YOU!! PM ME!!

PS = WAY TO GO on your losses! Keep that motivation up and keep it coming off!!

PPS = Just... stop before you're all skin and bones. That would not be very good, I assume?

Hi Anyar!

I noticed that you offered to send some Beyond Calories spreadsheets to other members. Would you mind sending them over to me? I am new to this type of diet, but I really think I could stick to BC! Just don't have much info about how it works.

Please email me at mausees @ yahoo.com

Thank you much!

Could someone let me know if I have the Beyond Calorie part? I have the diet handbook and it has 10 rules and a carb list and protein list. It also gives a list of what meals to eat each day such as Day 1...eat 3 carb meals and 1 protein meal. Is this right? I am not sure if I want to switch however, I have ended each of the past 3 cycles at the same weight. Some of that is my fault, I realize. I would just like to look at BC.

snord, you don't have the BC diet, you had to pay an extra $16 to get it. there are some here who paid for the enditre package so if you want you can have someone email it to you.

When you have choice of fruit and veggies for a meal you can combine broccoli, limes, garlic.

Sautee the broccoli and crushed garlic and sautee them in olive oil flavored cooking spray and  squeeze some fresh lemon juice.

Another tasty option is crushed garlic, yellow squash, zucchini and sliced bell peppers. Spray olive oil spray on the veggies and grill them until tender.

I've tried the above cobinations on my veggie days on the DG but with all the options available on BC, I'll be sure to fix these often when I do my first cycle.

Any seasonings are ok as long they're calorie free.

I must say, this is the perfect plan for dieters with family at home.

You can combine the proteins with the fruits and veggies pretty much everyday, unlike the DG.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this thread, (always in the general dis) But I had a question for any of you who have done the DG and switched to the BC...or the other way around? I've been doing the DG since July and have been doing really well....just kinda hit a wall these last couple cycles, and would like to do the BC maybe a cycle or 2 to re-rev things up...Has anyone done this and had good results? Thanks ahead of time for your help!

Zeva...others can respond but I did BC for two cycles when I hit a plateau...I lost the first BC cycle but the second cycle was another plateau.  I had a hard time eating all the items listed 6 times a day. Some have said that you don't have to eat everything...but I thought that was how they made it work.  Now that I am more experienced with the diet perhaps I could have made it work better.  I will reread it sometime to see what can be tweaked.  I really missed the frozen yogurt and oatmeal after two cycles and was glad to return to the DG...which was good.  You might want to PM Hiker...she started out DG but then switched to BC and lost all her weight doing an altered BC.  She's a great gal would help you out!

Hi everyone

I decided To give the BC a try. I don't know if Iwill be able to eat all six meals. I thought because I am working from home now that it would be possible. Also, I thought that there are so many choices it could be a good thing to stick to when you travel and I will be traveling some in the next few months. So here I go..... first meal down grapes and peaches!!!

Thanks Sunshine....I think my main question is, that the premise of the diet is that you are spacing your meals out even more, eating less calories per meal, to trick your body into burning more per meal...WELL, if you go back to the DG, only 4 meals, will you gain even more weight because your body is used to having less calories per meal? I just dont want to undo what I have worked so hard for, for so many months......

Hey Bailey! Good luck trying the BC.....be sure to let us know in the general discussion how you are doing with this cycle! SO many have been motivated by Steve, and Babycakes! (including me! LOL...)

Zeva..I do not think your metabolism would slow down on BC...in fact eating more often may just give it a kick in the pants....it might shake things up for you...so don't be afraid to try it...it is only one cycle..then you'll know!

Already posted this in the General Discussion Thread so it's too long, don't read again:  OMG  SUNSHINE, I just took a very thorough look through the BC rules and you're right it doesn't mention water.  It does however state daily right next to which day your on for example "For Day #10 you're going to eat 6 Meals."  It also says in the red box at the end of each days information "that you should eat about HALF of what you would normally crave- - - because remember that you're now eating 6 meals per day (not 3 meals)"  But what about the water??  STEVE - ARE YOU OUT THERE?  Did you drink the tons of water during your BC cycles?  Also, you can eat the meals in any order.  It states that each day after the 6 Meals are listed.  I've really been good about the 6 meals while out and about.  My best tip would be mini zipper plastic bags (I get them at one of the dollar stores).  Good size for portion control and I just put in a variety of things that are in my meals for that day, cut, if need be, into finger food size.  OK like cheese cubes, nuts, hardboiled egg, shrimp with tail, deli slices rolled and cut, cherry tomatoes, pepper strips, half apple, half pear, grapes  (going to freeze some and it will keep other stuff cool too), orange segments, radish, pickles, berries, whatever is in your meal that will fit in the bags.  I than close all those little plastic bags (except the nuts) into an insulated lunch bag with one of those frozen pouches and munch the miles away (spacing my meals evenly apart of course).  So for travel it works just great, except I've been kicking myself about not drinking much water.  And, maybe I don't have to.  I know it's good for you, keeps our skin hydrated and so younger looking but the pit stops are killer.  Would be real interested what others think about the water and BC.  Thanks for pointing that out SUNSHINE :sun: Hugs, :clover: Believe
