Do you have one thing or one trick that saves your diet on a daily basis?
Recently I have discovered mine so I thought I would share. I used to be the kind of person who would snack late at night, either because it had been too long since my supper time or that my evening workout would make me hungry.
My new tactic to overcome this has been to have some tea and a Silhouette yogurt (only 40 calories). It works for two reasons.
1) it fills my stomach so I am no longer hungry
2) it gives me something to look forward too after my workout.
What are some of your biggest assistant in your weight loss routine?

I typically save my favorite meal of the day for my post workout meal - a turkey and cheese sandwich, grapes, and V8. It gives me something to look forward to.
Other than that, I eat plenty of fiber to help curb my appetite. I'm sure it plays a big role.

My secret is eating calorie-light, veggie-filled lunches. It might not work for everyone but it really helps me because it lets me splurge a bit on my dinners.
A few weeks ago, before my schedule changed, I was eating Birdseye Steamfresh frozen veggies for lunch every day. You don't have to defrost or even open the bag, you just throw them in the microwave and in 5 minutes you get some great steamed veggies. I ate one bag for lunch each day and it totally filled me up and was only 105 calories total. That really helped me keep my calorie count low for the day.
Now that my work and school schedule has changed and I don't get a lunch or any breaks at work anymore, I can't do my steamed veggies. But now my trick is to bring a whole load of veggies to work to munch on all day at my desk. I cut up green peppers, red peppers and orange peppers and bring baby carrots and green beans. I put them in little ziplock baggies and take one baggie out each hour and munch all day. I don't get hungry that way and it makes the 12 hour shifts a little more bearable. Plus, when I get home from work, I feel like I've eaten a lot but I really haven't eaten that many calories.

I would have to say tea is one of my biggest things. I drink a ton of it all day long. If I get hungry, I just start chugging the tea, then I get bloated and can't eat, even if I still want to.
Also, snacking all day instead of meals works really well for me also.

I think that my "secret" would be to learn not to beat myself up whenever I would cheat.
What I would do is say that if I already ate something "bad", I might as well go all the way and throw it out the window...
So I learned to get back on the horse quickly. I think that's important!

That is really great thinking!!! Most people beat themselves up over cheating but if you deprive yourself of somethings. It will just be worse when you do cheat.
My fav diet help thing was going on a night ride. That way you can eat more food on the ride

My trick was very recently discovered....
I try not to be to deprevational. My goal on a daily basis is to make my meals something I can look forward to, while not making them the only thing I can look forward to.
It seemed like just a few months ago, I found myself worrying for a large chunk of the days. Images of delicious desserts and things I once loved danced in my head as I sat down to my less-than appealing breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.
Outside of the number on the scale, I wasn't happy one bit. Eventually I started a bad cycle of bingeing on weekends, and eating my disgusting, tiny meals every other day. Then, I started bingeing almost everyday. Not on foods I even really wanted, just on what I could get my hands on (dry oatmeal, cereal, raisins, cashews...)
Part of this bingeing was caused by a certain medication I was on at the time, but I'm sure the other part was the deprevation setting in and making me crazy. I gained weight, but didn't get any enjoyment out of food.
Finally, I went off the medication and said enough was enough. I vowed to stop bingeing, but at the same time, stop depriving. I would make every meal enjoyable, so that I wouldn't have a reason to overeat when the opportunity arose.
I love peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches, as well as reses candies. I eat both everyday now. I have the pb and j for lunch, but with sugarless jelly, and only 45-calorie-per slice bread. I allow myself 1-2 reses cups a day. I have a reses after dinner and am satisfied. I have a whole bag of them in my dresser drawer, but am no longer afraid that I'll binge on them.
I am finally ok with 1 or 2 being enough, but not too much. I also no longer let myself have over-eat days, because since my couple years of on and off deprevation, I have a low tollerance for sugar. The days when I could polish off 1/5 of my halloween candy in one night and be fine are over.

I just tried Smart Pop, Pop Corn for the first time this afternoon and I must say it is quite delicious.
Once bag (big bag) has 260 calories, 4 grams of fat and 12 grams of fibre and it has taken me an hour to get through just half a bag.
Great for anyone like me who craves salty snacks and always ends up over eating chips because they are just gone too quick.

Coffee!!! The flavored sugar free creamers kind of give the illusion of a sweet snack. Plus I just love coffee.
Fruit Cups
South Beach or Slim Fast Snack bars.
Bottles of water with the flavor packs in them. I chug one if I feel like eating before or after dinner to fill me up for awhile.
And those 100 calorie popcorn bags are good for a salt fix.
