This was actually 2 months after I had made changes to my diet and activity.  I had lost about 20 pounds at this point.  At my highest weight, I was 320 lbs.

My epiphany occurred on my 40th birthday, Nov 3rd, 2004. This is a picture of me now, the result of making small, permanent changes. I still enjoy food, I just eat foods that are low in saturated fat and, especially, sugar. Sugar really is the enemy. I made these changes for me and for my 3 beautiful children. I wanted to be around for them for a long time and I wanted to set a good example for them. I changed my relationship with food and exercise (or the lack of it) and made up my mind from the beginning that these changes would be permanent. I had "dieted" many times before, but the difference this time has been that I never set a goal of how much weight I wanted to lose. I committed to this being my way of life and I ultimately lost 120 pounds. I have never "celebrated" my achievement. I celebrate every day by running and eating healthy. I am in control of my life. It is very empowering. I am now a life coach and fitness consultant and I am committed to helping others find the same happiness I found when it clicked for me four and a half years ago.

Good Lord, Eddie.  Lance Armstrong needs to rent you for a commercial for his sites.  Your abs are astounding.  Thanks for the hope.  If you can do it, maybe I can do it!  Congratulations!

That's amazing. What did you do specifically in terms of working out to lose the weight? What exercises did you do?

Keep up the good work!

Very nice, did you ever encounter problems with sagging skin?
Also, you lost your fat and THEN bulked up, right? Or was it all at the same time?

No sagging skin really, maybe because I was lifting weights while I was losing weight.  Didn't really bulk up, what you see is the result of 18 months of eating healthy, running and lifting (and not drinking beer!).
